Yoga for Bone Health



Wednesdays, 12-1 pm

This class is will increase the health of your bones, based on Dr. Loren Fishman's medical research on how yoga can reverse the progression of osteopenia and osteoporosis. We practice with a focus on alignment and building muscular and bone strength. This class is appropriate for all levels and all ages—we move slowly, with precision, and hold poses for longer periods of time than in a typical vinyasa class, so every student can work at their own level. This is a strong but gentle class, and sometimes turns into a therapeutics workshop, so come with questions!

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is the antidote to our stress-filled lives. It allows us to soothe our nervous systems and move away from the "fight or flight" physicality we spend so much time in, and into the "rest and digest" parasympathetic nervous system. This allows your body to relax physically—your heart rate will slow, blood vessels will widen, your breath will slow and deepen, ultimately allowing your body to restore itself.
